Bookish Monthly TBR

October TBR

So stoked about my spooky October #tbr! 👻🕸🥀🦇🎃

As I touched on in my September wrap-up post, moving forward with my monthly to-read lists, I will be leaving myself guilt-free wiggle room for my mood-readerly changes, and I’m cool with that.

But! I have vowed to stick with my theme for the month! ⚰️🤘🏻

I do love a good mystery, but rarely read them, and scary stuff is definitely out of the norm for me, so I think this will be super fun!

We’ve got some murder mysteries, a haunting, a cult, dead girls, a turn-of-the-century serial killer, a changeling, and a dark secret society. Sounds spooky to me. 👻

NGL, I also ordered Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, which isn’t pictured only because it hasn’t yet arrived yet, AND my Cancerian mood-intuition-detector 🌝🦀🔮 tells me that I’m going to want something witchy in here as well, which I also have yet to acquire.

I’m thinking maybe A Discovery of Witches… or that Alice Hoffman book that isn’t Practical Magic…

any other suggestions??

Also, I’m already listening to The Lonely Hearts Hotel on audiobook, so there’s that. Haha.

Four of these beauts are non-negotiable—Dead Girls, The Incendiaries, Ordeal by Innocence, and The Haunting of Hill House—as they’re for our book event and our book club, respectively, so those will be first reads of the month!

After those we’ve got:

Chronicle of a Death Foretold – Gabriel Garcia Marquez

The Changeling – Victor Lavalle

The Devil in the White City – Erik Larson

The Secret History – Donna Tartt.

So. I am going to try my hardest to get through at least 8 books this month, 2 per week seems legit. If they don’t end up being all these ones, that’s ok, but #goals.

📚

I am actually really excited about all of these though, so we’ll see!

📚

Are any of these on your list??

🤘🏻🖤
